Looks like I’m becoming a once a week blogger instead of at least once a day. Let me just say that to be honest i could write three or more times a day. There is one main roadblock in my way though. I have the worst desktop ever at home. It is almost ten years old and it runs sooooooo sloooooooow. Not to mention it crashes all the time. I like using the computers at the library though. I live less than three miles from three libraries, which is really good. I come every day on my lunch break, but I find myself completely spacing out on the fact I want to write. Oh well I’ll keep trying til I get it right

Last week I made  a conscious decision to drastically cut back on the meat that I eat. In the long run I hope to become a full-fledged vegetarian. Now let me start by saying that I do love meat. The other night I had roast beef and today I had meatloaf. Yet I noticed when I don’t eat meat I’m a lot less bloated and I don’t feel so heavy all the time. So over the last week I’ve had meat three times and after each time I could feel a considerable difference. I felt bloated, heavy and in some instances nauseous. So I think it will work out for me. At the end of the day I love vegetables, fruits and grains way more than meat. Although I will still eat cheese because cheese is golden in my book. i just eat less.

The hubby has been very good with the transition. I’m pretty sure when I told him I wanted to go vegetarian he was concerned that all he would be eating is plain spaghetti and sauce. When he learned that he would be eating way more than that he was on board. I plan to still cook meat for him on the occasional dinner night, because he is a meat eater. I’ve eaten some great things since I started this change I only wish I had pictures to show you guys. Tomorrow I promise to show you something, even if it is just a picture of my adorable rabbit. That’s what i feel like happened over the last week. First let me state that three miles is not that far. But me trying to walk six miles in a day for five days a week isn’t going to happen. I love walking to work because I pass by this beautiful park (photos to come). I have learned though that I can not do that walk twice in a day, especially when it’s still really hot outside. For now I have decided to do the walk to work as many times a day as I can and slowly work my way up to the full round trip.

On a happy note,I am excited for this week. Since I didn’t have to work yesterday I was left with a four-day work week. Yay me! then it got better. I planned a mini vacation with the hubby so we took Friday and Monday off. So now I only have to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and I’m off for the rest of the week. Super awesome if I do say so myself. Sadly the week it self was very uneventful. I will hopefully get all my duckies in order and start to show you guys pictures not that I know I can do that with my phone (yay for the Palm Pre Plus). But for now I wish you all a terrific day!

That’s the question I’ll be asking myself at least until the rains hit. I’ve decided to save money and not get a bus pass this month. That means that Monday through Friday I will be walking to work. Oh yeah and I’ll be walking home as well. It is just about three miles to my job from my front door, so the question I posed was is three miles really that far?
I remember hearing stories from my grandfather , that when he was a boy he used to walk to school and it would be uphill both ways. I know we’ve all heard some version of that story as children, and I know I always thought it was a load of…well you know. But let me be the first to tell you that it IS possible to walk uphill both ways to your destination. I found this out for myself when I walked to work several weeks ago. I live on a hill with a series of hills along my route. Not huge OMG hills, just enough of a hill to be annoying. I also noticed that it happens both ways to and from my job. Getting to work is clearly more of a climb than going home, but that just means my commute home will be faster and much more relaxing with more downhills. (That’s me finding that little bright light in a cruddy situation.)
Now I know that three miles isn’t that far but when your walking it boy does it feel like forever. I’m also a larger girl so I’m carrying lots of weight with me. Yet, Lord willing I made it to work. sweaty and tired but I was still in one piece. Maybe my outlook will change when I have to walk it home, or when I realize I have to do it everyday five days a week. But for right now, three miles isn’t that far for me 😀 .
